Nottingham is teeming with independent outlets selling unique designs in clothing, furniture and accessories. Hockley is at the heart of the city’s boutique shopping scene. Wander down Pelham Street, Carlton Street and Goosegate and you’ll find Projects design wear, Jade shoes, All Saints, G-Force, Ice Nine and Birdcage. Wild Clothing on Broad Street sells vintage jeans and streetwear from the likes of Stussy and Boxfresh. The area is also good for independent record shops – visit Funky Monkey on Goosegate and Big Apple Records on Heathcoat Street. On the other side of the city Derby Road is home to top independent retailers, including Celia’s Vintage Clothing, Nash Interiors, the Danish Home Store, and The Worm That Turned for garden decor. A trip up Mansfield Road near the Victoria Centre is well worth the walk. Kathleen and Lily’s is great for vintage bargains, as is Daphne’s Handbag.
